- Pledge-a-Picketer: Did you know that anti-choice protestors regularly picket Aradia? They greet our clients and staff with signs, pamphlets and intolerance. We must employ extra security just to maintain peace and safety.
However, weve decided to turn those lemons into lemonade and are pleased to unveil a new program called
Pledge-a-Picketer!
Heres how it works: You choose to pledge an amount of money for each picketer who shows up at our steps
for 2006. (You may also decide to pledge for just one month at a time.) An average pledge might be from $0.50 to $5.00 per picketer. For details or to sign up to
Pledge-a-Picketer, contact our Development Department at

Aradia Womens Health Center is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
Our identification number is 91-0879453.
When you make a donation to AWHC, your money goes to work in a variety of ways.
Your tax deductible donation will help us:
- Provide medical and surgical abortion procedures for women of all income levels and cultural backgrounds
- Continue to expand well-woman care such as reproductive health counseling and gynecological screenings
- Educate and empower women to make decisions about their reproductive health.
You are fighting for choice in the Washington State Legislature – In addition to our direct services to clients, we actively lobby our state legislature on issues affecting women's health and reproductive rights.
You are helping train a new generation of doctors to perform safe abortions –Today, over 50 percent of our nation's abortion providers are over 50 years old. Each year, 85 abortion providers retire with no replacement. Because so few medical schools in this country include abortion as a part of their curriculum, we are facing a future where abortion may be legal but there will be no one trained to provide the procedure. At AWHC we have been training physicians to perform abortions for over 16 years—because we understand that the legal right to abortion is useless without clinics and trained doctors.
You are helping educate youth about reproductive health, sexuality, sexually transmitted infections and abortion –Knowledge is power, and our young people need accurate information about sex and reproductive health in order to make informed choices about their lives. AWHC staffers go into the community to provide medically accurate trainings to middle and high schools, community colleges, universities, domestic abuse shelters and organizations that primarily serve women.
You are helping people make the choices that affect their lives –For more than 30 years, we have seen first-hand that women understand the profound acts of both birth and abortion, and deserve support and safe medical care, whatever their choice.
